The line stood,
Unmoving and statuesque.
The slogan
For What Is Right
No one looked
Nor spared a glance
Still they stood
Before our home
"Let us"
The shout of their want
"We want"
Broken calls
All filling the street
In their line
Chanting those words
So everyone can have a choice.
Don't look back now,
But there's a giant worm on your head.
It's just sitting there,
And I bet if it had eyes it would be looking at me.
Yetch, it's so slimy,
Oozing down your back- don't move now!
Its pink, fleshy body sits,
Probably contemplating how to kill you.
Hey! I said don't move!
Don't look back now,
But there's a giant worm on your head.
It's just sitting there,
And I bet if it had eyes it would be looking at me.
Yetch, it's so slimy,
Oozing down your back- don't move now!
Its pink, fleshy body sits,
Probably contemplating how to kill you.
Hey! I said don't move!
Don't pretend that I didn't tell you.
We fell so fast
my last words screamed louder than love,
"Don't forget me!"
But you forgot
and I did not.
Now I sit here waiting for you
for my dreams to come true.
I'm waiting to join
you and the rest
To make you remember
how much I love you.

Jill stood on the pinnacle of the roof, her lithe frame delicately silhouetted against the blindingly full moon. The light cast from it was enough to illuminate the road below where she balanced, slightly bent against the wind. The breeze was warm, for an October night, and she had shed her jacket about an hour after she left her house. Suddenly, her head flicked to the side, draw by the whisper of feet on the dry ground.
"Finally "
Her client was tiptoeing through an alley toward the deserted street. When he reached it, he looked all around, and breathed a sight of relief when he saw the absence of life. And he never breathed again.
Jill giggled heartily at my suggestion for the dance. "You're not serious, right? I mean, I know I've liked him since, like, 5th grade, but really, I don't like him THAT much."
"But I think he likes you, too!"
She lost it at that. What was left of the soda in her mouth came spewing out of her nose at the thought of that suggestion, and she fell to her knees, struggling to regain her breath. "You really had me going there, Mer. Don't DO that!"
I just scoffed. "Obviously you haven't seen the way he looks at you in bio. I swear he was drooling over you-"
"Yeah, because being viewed as a big hunk of OH, I don't know, FOOD, doesn't creep m
My fingers
pressed against the cool window pane
My breath
fogs the glass around my face
My eyes
watch ladies parade by
in their Sunday best
Waiting for a miracle to come,
sweep them off their feet!
But until then, they parade morosely through the crowd,
with each and every head in the clouds.
Did I ever tell you that
when you said
you loved me I
was caught in the throes of time,
hoping to move back to
the time of blissful unawares
where I could dream
but then You smiled and I
faded into you
A light mist
creating streaks on my windowpane.
Cars drive by, leaving lightning
stranded on a sheet of glass,
captured for a split second
before the light moves on.
The line stood,
Unmoving and statuesque.
